WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team opened its 2020 season on Saturday afternoon, falling at 19th-ranked Georgetown, 19-5, at Cooper Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hoyas tallied the game's first three goals, but
Sam McGee got the Hawks on the board with her first goal of the season with 26:33 to play in the first half.
• The hosts then answered with five in a row before
Bridget Cerciello opened her account at about the midway point of the period. Georgetown (1-0) would then grab hold of the game with a 7-0 run to close out the first half.
• Early in the second half, Cerciello tallied her second of the day with the Hawks a player up due to a yellow card.Â
Stephanie Kelly would then add her first of the season before McGee doubled her tally to close out the scoring in the final minute.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE

•

Amber Weedon also saw time in goal for SJU.
