PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team opened up its Spring Break road swing on Tuesday, falling at Duquesne, 7-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Dukes jumped out to the early lead with a pair of wins in doubles play.Â
Anna Kirk and
Stow Weiss were ahead, 4-3, in the second flight when play was halted after the hosts clinched the point.
• Duquesne clinched the match victory with wins in the top three doubles flights. Weiss and
Amanda Nava both battled from a set down to force third sets in the second and first flights, respectively, but the Dukes came away with the crucial victories.

"A well-fought match with definite improvements from our young squad," head coach
Ian Crookenden said. "Excellent singles matches from Amanda and Stow, plus a solid showing from Ireland [Amato] and Alex [Kramer]. Despite the lopsided score, team-wise it was a tough battle on the Dukes' home courts."
