Lyons, Haavie Lead Men’s Soccer to Win at St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, N.Y. – It was a dominant performance Saturday night by the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team (5-8-0, 3-2-0 A-10) as the Hawks defeated St. Bonaventure (2-7-1, 2-2-0 A-10), 1-0, with senior Garrett Lyons and rookie keeper Lars Haavie leading the Hawks to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Saint Joseph's was aggressive in the first half with eight shots and three on net. The Hawks held the Bonnies to just one first half shot, but neither team scored.
  • During the 59th minute, graduate student Aidan Watkins went over for a corner kick but just tapped the ball nearside to junior James Fletcher. Fletcher sent a cross in the box where Lyons sent a header home for the score.
