Women’s Basketball to Play in Van Chancellor Classic

PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's women's basketball will spend its Thanksgiving weekend in Katy, Texas for the Van Chancellor Classic. The Hawks are scheduled to take on Old Dominion Friday at noon, Stetson on Saturday at noon, and Ball State on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. All times are EST.

ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • The Hawks are 1-3 on the season and have lost three-straight games.
  • St. Joe's is scoring 55.8 points per game and allowing its opponents 56.0.
  • Junior Kaliah Henderson leads the team with 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
  • Rookie Talya Brugler posts 7.5 ppg for second best on the team.
  • Graduate students Katie Jekot (7.3) and Alayna Gribble (7.0) round out the top four scorers for SJU. Jekot also paces the squad in assists with 4.0 per outing.
ABOUT OLD DOMINION:
  • The Monarchs are 2-2 overall with wins over South Carolina State and Auburn and losses to George Washington and VCU.
  • On average, Old Dominion is scoring 57.5 points and allowing 53.5 per game this season.
  • Ajah Wayne (14.8) and Iggy Allen (12.8) lead ODU in scoring as the only double figure scorers.
  • Amari Young enters play just under the double-digit plateau at 9.8 ppg.
  • Allen and Young post 8.5 and 8.0 rebounds per game, respectively, to top the Monarchs.
ABOUT STETSON:
  • The Hatters are 2-2 on the campaign with wins over Johnson University and Manhattan, while losing to Miami and Fairfield. They will play Louisiana Monroe on Friday.
  • Stetson is posting 68.3 points for and 51.0 points against through four games.
  • Yazz Wazeerud-Din leads the Hatters with 18.3 ppg on 46.8% from the field.
  • Tatiana Streun is the team's second leading scorer at 12.0 ppg. She also sits atop the squad in rebound (8.0 rpg).
ABOUT BALL STATE:
  • The Cardinals are 2-0 in 2021-22 with victories over Milwaukee and Butler.
  • Four Cardinals are posting double-digit points on average through two games, led by Anna Clephane with 16.5 ppg.
  • Ally Becki (12.0), Chyna Latimer (10.5), and Thelma Dis Agustsdottir (10.5) round out the quartet.
