DAYTON, Ohio – Saint Joseph's memorable 2021 season came to a close on Friday afternoon as the eighth seeded Hawks fell to fourth seed Massachusetts, 2-0, in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship at Baujan Field.
How It Happened
• Ashley Lamond put the Minutewomen up 1-0 at 20:31 as she scored off a rebound in front of the goal.
• Entering the second half down just a goal, the Hawks came out as the aggressor as they out shot Massachusetts 5-1 over the opening 15 minutes.
• Lauren Bonavita countered Saint Joseph's momentum as she extended Massachusetts' lead to 2-0 with a tally at 64:43.
• Saint Joseph's appeared to have cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 82nd minute, but the goal was waved off on an offsides call.
• The Hawks sent four more shots at the Massachusetts goal in the final minutes, but were unable to sneak any into the back of the net.

• The Hawks' 19 shots on the afternoon were a season high.
• Aleksa Peev and Nicole Angelini paced Saint Joseph's offense with four shots apiece.
• Saint Joseph's went 216:12 between allowing goals with the prior goal scored by an opponent came in the 83rd minute by La Salle on October 21.
• Goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti made four saves to finish the year with 114.
• Cappelletti etched her name in the Hawks' record book this year as her 114 saves ranked fourth most in a single season, while her six shutouts tied Christine Neal (2012) and Allison Ebling (2015) for fourth in a season with six apiece.
• Saint Joseph's advanced to the semifinals of the A-10 Championship for the fifth time in program history this season, and fourth time in six years.
