PHILADELPHIA –
Jordan Olenginski's two goals led the way as the Saint Joseph's field hockey team cruised to a 6-0 win over La Salle at Hank DeVincent Field on Thursday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (1-1 overall, 1-0 Atlantic 10) peppered the cage with shots in the first quarter but did not convert until Olenginski finished off a loose ball with a little more than a minute to play in the frame.
• The Hawks took control in the second quarter, putting three past La Salle's Cassie Kincaid.Â
Cassidy Atchison converted a penalty stroke 48 seconds into the quarter before Olenginski added her second and
Sara Hayes tallied her first of the season to send the Hawks into the break on top, 4-0.
• La Salle (0-3 overall, 0-1 Atlantic 10) earned more scoring chances in the second half, but it was the Hawks that cashed in the opportunities, as
Lily Santi and
Katelyn Cocco notched their first collegiate goals in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, to seal the win.
