Caela Abadie drove in two runs, Molly Kapala homered and Amanda Herr limited Army West Point to just one hit as the Saint Joseph's softball team downed the Black Knights, 3-1, Friday afternoon at the SJU Softball Field.

How It Happened
• The Black Knights opened the scoring in the top of the first as Brook Mitchell scored on a two-out infield single by Jolie Duong to make it 1-0.
• Kapala tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth on a home run that drilled the left field foul pole.
• Sarah Ostazewski led off the bottom of the fifth with a walk and advanced to third on a ground-rule double by Kapala.
• Abadie followed Kapala's double with a double of her own to center field, scoring Ostaszewski and Kapala to make it 3-1.
• Army West Point would get two runners on in the top of the sixth, but Herr and Saint Joseph's defense worked out of trouble to keep the visitors off the scoreboard.
• The Hawks set the Black Knights down in order in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

Inside The Boxscore
• Kapala finished the day 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and two runs scored.
• Abadie was 1-for-2 two a two-run double and a walk.
• Ostaszewski and Nicole Bondoc each collected up a stolen base.
• In the circle, Herr allowed one unearned run on one hit, and struck out one to improve to 2-2 on the season.
• After giving up a walk to lead off the top of the second, Herr retired the next 12 Army West Point batters in a row.
