.The Saint Joseph's Varsity 8 took first place in its event as the Hawks' women's rowing team had a strong showing against Lehigh on Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River.

In a matchup of both Saint Joseph's Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8 and Lehigh's Varsity 8, the Hawks' V8 took control in the second 250m and extended its lead as the race progressed. The Hawks' Varsity 8 of c-Shannon Mulgrew, 8-Shane Devine, 7-Allison Ruck, 6-Aislinn O'Brien, 5-Corinne O'Neill, 4-Carly Bachinsky, 3-Catie Moffett, 2-Morgan Sherman, 1-Riley McDade bested the field by open water in a time of 6:31.31.

The Hawks' 2nd Varsity 8 and Lehigh Varsity 8 had a great battle the entire length of the course with Lehigh coming out on top in the final 30 strokes by 2.1 seconds. Saint Joseph's 2nd VARSITY 8 of c-Sarah Vest, 8-Molly Duncan, 7-Teresa Crosby, 6-Julia Ianieri, 5-Steph McKenna, 4-Catherine McGonigle, 3-Haley Hukari, 2-Anna Martin, 1-Michaela Mulkerrins finished in a time of 6:45.92

In the day's opening event, the Varsity 4, Saint Joseph's boat of c-Victoria Penza, 4-Brooke Freund, 3-Ashley Radell, 2-Allie D'Andrea, 1-Madelyn Williams had a strong race and gained more race experience in its matchup against the Mountain Hawks as the Hawks finished the course in a time of 7:30.27
