Men's Soccer Falls to La Salle in A-10 Opener, 2-0

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's men's soccer squad fell to La Salle, 2-0, in the Hawks' Atlantic 10 opener at McCarthy Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Saint Joseph's (1-4, 0-1 A-10) was limited in personnel for Sunday's match and saw multiple Hawks make their season and/or collegiate debuts.

Sophomore midfielder Chris Hunt and redshirt freshman midfielder Max Moyer made their first collegiate starts while senior midfielder Alvin Dahn got the starting nod in his season debut.

Freshman forward Mikkel Andersen and freshman defender Junior Collins both got the starts in their collegiate debuts while freshman goalkeeper Luis Ludosan (0-2, 0-1 A-10) started in net for the first time since the season opener, making three saves in the full 60:00.

The Crimson and Gray fired off seven shots for the match but were held to just two shots on goal, in the final 6:10.

How It Happened
• La Salle's Ike Hollinger scored on a shot in the lower-right corner to put the Explorers (4-1-1, 1-0-1 A-10) on the board early (3').

• Hollinger fired off a shot on goal again in the 19th minute, but Ludosan made his first save of the match to keep the Hawks within one score.

• La Salle's Justin Brunow took a shot that was headed toward the back of the net, but SJU's defense came up with a team save (43').

• The Explorers recorded their second goal of the match in the 53rd minute, as Omari Cotterell scored on a double assist from Hollinger and Brunow.

• Andersen (84') and Hunt (85') fired off shots on goal late in the match, but both were saved.
