LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team opened the road portion of its schedule in style on Thursday, cruising to a 7-0 win at Rider.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (5-1) took the lead early and never looked back as the Hawks swept through the doubles flights, dropping just seven games combined.  Alex MacNeil and Johnnie Massart clinched the point with a 6-2 win in the third flight.

• Singles play saw Francesco Mowrey earn a straight-sets victory in the top flight to double the lead before Sam Sauter and Nickolas Frisk were winners in the fifth and first flights, respectively, to secure the team victory.

• Eshan Kanetkar and MacNeil were supertiebreaker winners in the third and sixth flights, respectively, while Massart finished off the day with a win in the fourth.

HAWK TALK
"The team worked hard for this win, and it feels good to be back on track," assistant coach Marc Pibernat said.  "We played good doubles overall and in singles, everyone did what they had to do to find the win, which is staying competitive and fighting though the match."

UP NEXT
The Hawks return home to the SJU Tennis Complex for a matchup with crosstown rival Temple on Tuesday, March 30.
