The Saint Joseph's softball team earned a doubleheader split with Drexel on Thursday as the Hawks won game two, 6-2, after the Dragons took the opener, 7-3, at the SJU Softball Field.
How It Happened
Game One
• Drexel took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first on a three-run home run by Linda Rush.
• Elena Woulfe extended the Dragons' lead with a RBI triple, and came around to score on a ground out to make it 5-0 in the top of the second.
• Drexel scored twice in the top of the fifth to push ahead 7-0.
• A double by
Sarah Ostaszewski scored
Kirstin Cox in the bottom of the fifth to bring the Hawks to within 7-1.
• Saint Joseph's rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a double by
Payton Baxter, but the Dragons held the Hawks off the board from there to secure the win.
Game Two
• Rush gave Drexel a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a solo home run to center field.
• Kristi DiMeo followed with a solo shot to left field to make it 2-0.
• Ostaszewski got the Hawks on the board in the bottom of the third as her double down the left field line scored Cox to make it 2-1.
• Ostaszewski came around to score on a single up the middle by
Molly Kapala.
• After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Kapala hustled home to give Saint Joseph's a 3-2 lead on a RBI ground out by
Caela Abadie.
• Cox helped the Hawks open a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI single that scored
Taylor Marinelli.

Madison Fife added to Saint Joseph's lead in the bottom of the fifth as her two-run double made it 6-2.
Inside The Boxscore
• Cox finished the day 3-for-6 with two runs scored.
• Abadie was 3-for-8 with a run scored.

Amanda Herr moved to 4-3 as she allowed seven runs on eight hits over 5.0 innings in the opener.
• Herr struck out a game-high five batters.

Saige Stutz improved to 3-0 on the year as she earned the win in game two after allowing just one hit over 4.0 innings of relief, while striking out five.
• Drexel entered the day one of just four undefeated teams in the nation.
