PHILADELPHIA –
Lauren Figura scored a career-high six goals as the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team rolled to a 19-9 win at La Salle on Sunday afternoon. Seven different Hawks found the back of the net as SJU finished off a season sweep of its crosstown rival.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• La Salle (3-7 overall, 1-4 Atlantic 10) got the game's first goal at the 27:35 mark, but the Hawks took control immediately after. A 9-0 run keyed by four goals from Figura staked the Hawks to a 9-1 lead with 18:57 to play in the first half.
• After another Explorer tally, Figura,
Emma O'Neill, and
Sophia Kolkka scored in quick succession to give Saint Joseph's (7-5 overall, 4-1 Atlantic 10) a 12-2 advantage at the 16:20 mark.
• The teams traded goals for the remainder of the stanza as the Hawks took a 15-5 lead into halftime.
• La Salle got the first two goals of the second half, but the Hawks answered as Figura,
Bridget Cerciello,
Stephanie Kelly, and
Sam McGee found the net and pushed the edge to 19-7. Annina Iacobucci then scored a pair of consolation goals for the Explorers to set the final margin.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE

Amber Weedon made nine saves in 45 minutes of action;
Melissa Semkiw came on in relief and made three stops of her own. Molly Loughlin and Julia Dellaratta filled the cage for La Salle, combining for four saves.
• Figura's six points were a game high, while Kolkka added five off the bench. Iacobucci and Madi McKee tallied three each for the Explorers.
• SJU outshot La Salle 30-23, while the Explorers held a 19-10 advantage in draw controls. La Salle made 15 turnovers in the game, while the Hawks committed just six.
• Figura and
Anna Seifert scooped up a game-high four ground balls apiece, while
Julia Pash grabbed five draws and
Taylor Newman-Farr gathered four. McKee secured eight draw controls to lead all players.
