Saint Joseph's center fielder
Sarah Ostaszewski went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Hawks' softball team to a 3-1 victory over Penn on Wednesday afternoon at the SJU Softball Field.
How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a solo home run down the right field line by Ostaszewski.
• Penn tied the contest at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by Julia Mortimer.
• The Hawks regained the lead in the top of the fifth as
Nicole Bondoc and
Lauren Pscolka scored a single by Ostaszewski.

Emily Siler, who replaced SJU starter
Amanda Herr to start the bottom of the fifth, gave up a leadoff single to start, then retired the next nine Quakers to secure the win for the Hawks.

• Herr improved to 5-4 on the season with the win as she allowed one earned run on four hits over 4.0 innings, while striking out three.
• Siler tossed three scoreless innings of relief for the Hawks, striking out four Quakers along the way.
• Saint Joseph's and Penn were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader at Penn on Wednesday, but the schedule was shifted to a single game at the SJU Softball Field where the Quakers served as the home team.
