After a five-year hiatus, the Jesuit Invitational returned to the Schuylkill River on Saturday with the trophy returning to its home of the past few years, the Robert M. Gillin, Jr. Boathouse, as the Saint Joseph's women's rowing team captured the event title. Winners of the last Jesuit Invitational in 2015, the Hawks posted victories in the Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 events, and second place finishes in the Third Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 races to capture the 2021 trophy.
"We again showed great maturity and resiliency after a non-COVID illness changed all of our boats today," said Saint Joseph's Head Coach
Gerry Quinlan. "We were not worried as our team has been so tuned in all year and performed as we expected we would outlasting our competitors."
