Saint Joseph's Head Coach
Erin Brooks earned her 300th career victory on Friday as the Hawks' softball team swept its doubleheader versus Rhode Island, 6-0, and 9-0 in five innings, at the SJU Softball Field.
How It Happened
Game One
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third as
Sarah Ostaszewski scored on a triple by
Molly Kapala.

Kirstin Cox singled home
Jordan Hinkle in the fifth inning to put the Hawks ahead 2-0.
• A three-run home run by
Payton Baxter pushed Saint Joseph's lead to 5-0 in the sixth.
• Ostaszewski added an insurance run with a solo home run later in the sixth to make it 6-0.
Game Two
• A two-run home run by
Caela Abadie put the Hawks up 2-0 in the bottom of the first.
• Cox and Kapala scored on a two-run single by Abadie to make it 4-0 in the third inning.
• A double by Ostaszewski scored
Nicole Bondoc to push Saint Joseph's ahead 5-0 in the fourth.
• Ostaszewski came around to score on a single by Cox to up the lead to 6-0.
• Abadie capped a five-run fourth inning with a three-run home run.

Game One

Amanda Herr improved to 6-5 on the season as she allowed just six hits, while striking out five in a complete game shutout.
• Ostaszewski was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI.
• Hinkle went 2-for-3 with two runs score.
Game Two
• Abadie drove in seven runs, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored.
• Cox went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a RBI.

Emily Siler picked up the shutout victory, scattering three hits and striking out three Rams to improve to 3-4 on the year.
