FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team rounded out its Atlantic 10 regular season competition this weekend with a solid day of competition at the Mason Invitational at the Occoquan Reservoir.

"We had a solid day. The 2nd Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 had great rows. The Varsity 8 is a better boat then we showed today," said Saint Joseph's head coach Gerry Quinlan. "We have some work to do before A-10s."

How It Happened
• The Hawk's Varsity 8 of c-Shannon Mulgrew, 8-Shane Devine, 7-Allison Ruck, 6-Aislinn O'Brien, 5-Corinne O'Neill, 4-Carly Bachinsky, 3-Catie Moffett, 2-Catherine McGonigle, 1-Riley McDade bested the field of Dayton and George Mason in a time of 6:44.3 in its heat.
• Saint Joseph's 2nd Varsity 8 of c-Sarah Vest, 8-Molly Duncan, 7-Teresa Crosby, 6-Julia Ianieri, 5-Steph McKenna, 4-Morgan Sherman, 3-Haley Hukari, 2-Anna Martin, 1-Michaela Mulkerrins placed first in its four-boat race, topping the field in a time of 6:27.5.
• In the Varsity 4, Saint Joseph's boat of c-Alexa Romanella, 4-Hannah Howard, 3-Sara Garstka, 2-Ashley Radell, 1-Raquel Lam placed first with a time of 7:51.1 to advance to the Grand Final.
• In the Varsity 8 Grand Final, the Hawks fell behind early, but couldn't rebound as they did in the morning as it finished in a time of 6:52.0.
• Saint Joseph's 2nd Varsity 8 continued to impress as it posted a fantastic finish time of 6:56.1, just off the pace of winner Jacksonville, and ahead of Dayton and Villanova.
• The Varsity 4 greatly improved over the past few weeks as it moved past Duquesne in the final 500 to secure third place.
• Anna Gambescia, Madelyn Williams, Brooke Freund served as alternatives for the Mason Invitational.
