The Saint Joseph's softball team had its six-game win streak snapped at Drexel on Wednesday as the Dragons topped the Hawks, 8-5, at Drexel Softball Field.
How It Happened
• Drexel jumped out to a 6-0 advantage in the bottom of the first.
• A bases-loaded walk by Holly Bridgman got the Dragons on the board.
• Following a RBI single by Reilly Jo Swanson, Kristi DiMeo scored as Savaanah Garcia was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
• Carly Bowen made it 4-0 with a RBI single, while Drexel scored two runs on a fielder's choice by Taylor Kent to open a six-run lead.
• Bowen added to the Dragon's lead in the bottom of the third with a RBI single that made it 7-0.

Molly Kapala scored on a sacrifice fly by
Taylor Marinelli to bring Saint Joseph's to within 7-1 in the top of the fourth.
• A double by
Caela Abadie scored
Kirstin Cox in the top of the fifth as the Hawks cut the score to 7-2.
• The Dragons added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth with a RBI single by Megan Trivelpiece that pushed Drexel ahead 8-2.
• Kapala brought the Hawks to within 8-4 with a two-run double in the top of the seventh.
• A fielder's choice by
Madison Fife scored Kapala as Saint Joseph's made it 8-5.
• The Hawks would get the tying run to the plate later in the seventh, but Drexel worked out of trouble to end the contest.
