NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph's senior outfielder Brendan Hueth and junior catcher Andrew Cossetti were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.  Joining the pair on the postseason honors list were freshman outfielder Brett Callahan, an All-Rookie selection, and graduate pitcher Hayden Seig, who was chosen for the All-Academic Team.

Hueth ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in batting average, while his 40 hits in conference play are a league-best.  A catalyst at the top of the Hawk lineup, the native of Spring Lake, New Jersey, ranks among the top 10 in the league in on-base percentage and slugging percentage as well.  Hueth is SJU's team leader in batting average and hits while tying for the team lead in triples and OBP.  He is second on the team in runs scored, doubles, and slugging, while ranking third in runs batted in; he also hit safely in 20 of 24 conference games.

Cossetti sits in a tie for second in the Atlantic 10 with 14 home runs; nine of those came in conference play, which is the top mark in the league.  He is the Hawks' leader in home runs, runs scored, and slugging, while tying with Hueth for the team lead in OBP.  Cossetti, who hails from Eagleville, Pennsylvania, is second on the team in hits and RBI, and is third in batting average.  He hit safely in 20 of 24 league games as well, and also hit at least one home run in each conference series; he notched a pair in each of the final three league series of the season.

A native of Newark, Delaware, Callahan is the Hawks' leader in stolen bases while ranking second on the team in batting average and fourth in hits and runs scored.  He started all 24 conference games this season and ranked third in the league in stolen bases and sixth in hits in league play.  Callahan is second on the squad in at bats, hits, and runs scored in A-10 games.

Seig returned for an extra year of eligibility, having an outstanding year in the classroom as he pursues a graduate degree in finance.  On the mound, he finished the season 2-0 with four saves and a 1.62 earned run average in eight appearances.  He took the hill in five of the Hawks' final nine games; SJU was 5-0 in those games, with Seig notching two wins and three saves as the Hawks made their push into the Atlantic 10 Championship.

VCU third baseman Tyler Locklear was named both the Player and Rookie of the Year, while Matt Mikulski of Fordham pulled in Pitcher of the Year honors.  La Salle's David Miller was chosen as the league's Coach of the Year.

The Hawks will open play in the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday at The Diamond in Richmond, Va., against Locklear and the top-seeded VCU Rams; first pitch is set for noon.
