The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team dropped its home-opening match to St. Johns, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
How It Happened
• The Hawks and Red Storm played to a 0-0 standstill after the opening 45 minutes.
• St. John's Zsani Kajan broke the draw and gave the visitor's a 1-0 lead at 54:24 on a shot to the lower left corner.
• Kajan pushed the Red Storm ahead by 3-0 as she scored in the 62nd minute and converted a penalty kick in the 67th minute.
• Samantha Gordon extended St. John's lead to 4-0 in the 77th minute.
• The Hawks had their best scoring chance of the second half quickly after the restart as
Natalie Nevins drilled a shot that landed in the hands of the St. John's goalkeeper.
• Gordon would add the match's final goal in the 88th minute.
