PRINCETON, N.J. – In a back-and-forth affair Tuesday night, the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team (3-5-0) came from behind to defeat Princeton (2-3-0), 3-2. Four different Hawks recorded a point, with graduate student
Matias Mancini and junior
James Fletcher paving the way with three apiece.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rookie Blake Driehuis tallied his second goal of the season during the seventh minute of play after receiving a feed from Fletcher.
- SJU held a lead for almost 20 minutes before Princeton knotted the game with a score from James Wangsness on a right-footed shot inside the box.
- The Tigers jumped ahead with another goal scored from inside the box to go up, 2-1.
- Less than a minute later, Mancini sent a shot past the encroaching Princeton keeper that was blocked on the line by a Tiger defender but eventually put in by Fletcher.
- Mancini put the Crimson & Gray back on top with an easy score inside the box after a pass from graduate student Omry Perel. Perel cruised up the far sideline and found Mancini in the box.
