Fletcher Scores First Career Goal as Men’s Soccer Drops Match at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Junior James Fletcher scored his first collegiate goal Friday night as the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team (0-3) fell to Campbell (2-1), 4-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Campbell scored the lone goal of the first half as Diego Konincks scored in the lower left corner after passes from Anass Amrani and Sami Amal.
  • The Camels opened the second half with a goal 5:03 into the period by Konincks.
  • St. Joe's responded 23 seconds later with its first score of the campaign as Fletcher sent a shot to the bottom right ninety. Graduate student Omry Perel assisted on the goal.
  • Nearly four minutes later, Campbell re-took a two-goal lead after Jalen James notched a score.
  • During the 88th minute, Campbell's Daniel Hernandez cemented the victory with the team's fourth goal of the match.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Fletcher's goal is the first for the Hawks on the 2021 campaign.
  • Campbell outshot the Crimson & Gray, 11-5.
  • Rookie Lars Haavie (0-3) made one save and allowed four goals.
