HOW IT HAPPENED

  • It took just over 30 seconds for Duquesne to respond with their first shot on target of the night, Luis Ludosan making a comfortable stop to the frame of his body. However, the pressure continued to come through the Hawks' attacking third, Ariel Hadar again testing the goal with a clean take for a volley after controlling with his chest.
  • SJU found themselves with a 10-5 advantage in shots in the opening half, but a late chance for the Dukes nearly saw them open the tally. A Ludosan save with 15 seconds left kept the score level going into the break.
  • Hadar found an early opportunity in the second half, finding space down the middle of the pitch. From 20 yards out, the junior fired his effort past the keeper, but outside of the post to fall harmlessly as a goal kick.
  • Both sides found it difficult to create chances midway through the second half, only one shot in 20 minutes before a Kenyatta Collins header landed wide of the goal.
  • Ludosan once again was called upon to make a save in the 76th minute, a pacey volley headed directly at the German keeper. Ludosan responded with a quick reflex save to gather and redistribute for a Hawk attack.
