NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Garrett Lyons and Luis Ludosan represent Saint Joseph's on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Awards list, announced on Tuesday afternoon. Both Lyons and Ludosan were selected Second Team All-Atlantic 10, Lyons also earning All-Academic plaudits.

The Hawks finished the season with one of the stingiest defenses in program history, large in part from the two nominees. SJU finished 2-2-4 in conference play, one point shy of a postseason berth. In the eight conference games, the Hawks conceded just six goals to tie joint-lowest amongst A-10 teams and marked the best defensive record in conference play in program history. The two defeats also marked the fewest in Atlantic 10 action for the Hawks, recording the first back-to-back clean sheet performance against conference opponents.

Lyons, who was selected as team captain prior to the season, contributed on both ends of the pitch despite playing every minute of the season for the Hawks at center back. The Silver Spring, Md. native scored twice on the year, adding a team-high five assists for a tied team-best nine points. Lyons also helped shepherd five shutouts on the year.

Ludosan also played a big role in the Hawks' defensive resiliency, manning the goal in all of the five SJU clean sheets. Among goalkeepers in the A-10 that played every conference game, Ludosan shared the best GAA, conceding just 0.75 goals per game. Over his 14 appearances, Ludosan collected the best overall GAA at 0.79. The German shot stopper ranks just outside the top 10 in save percentage, currently in 13th with a .823 clip.

Lyons' performance extended outside of the pitch and into the classroom as well, earning Atlantic 10 All-Academic honors. Lyons, a finance major, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.82.
