TAMPA, Fla. – The Saint Joseph's softball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday at the USF Tournament as the Hawks topped Fairfield, 2-1, and St. John's, 7-3.
How It Happened - Game One
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as
Nicole Bondoc scored off of a Fairfield error on a bunt by
Sarah Cancila.
• Fairfield tied the game at 1-1 on a RBI groundout by Kaitlin Hoffman in the bottom of the third.
•
Kaelin Cash connected on the decisive hit, doubling home
Lauren Pscolka in the top of the sixth to make it 2-1.
Inside The Boxscore - Game One
• Cash went 1-for-1 with a RBI and two walks.
•
Emily Siler improved 2-5 as she scattered five hits over 7.0 innings, while striking out four.
How It Happened - Game Two
• The Red Storm struck for three runs on four hits to take a 3-0 edge in the top of the first.
• The Hawks began to chip away as Cancila scored on a sacrifice fly by
Carly Rybinski in the second.
• A bases-loaded walk by Cash scored
Kayla Tauber to make it 3-2 in the third.
• Bondoc tied the game at 3-3 on a RBI triple by Tauber in the fourth.
• Tauber came around to score on a RBI single by
Jordan Hinkle to give the Hawks a 4-3 lead later in the fourth.
• A two-run double by Cancila, and a RBI double by
Jessica Gaughan extended St. Joe's lead to 7-3 in the sixth.
Inside The Boxscore - Game Two

Amanda Herr improved to 2-3 on the season as she allowed three runs on five hits, while striking out two in the complete game win.
• Cancila went 2-for-4 wth two RBI and two runs scored.
• Cash drew four walks, drove in one run and scored once.
