The Saint Joseph's softball team capped its seven-game homestand with a 6-2 loss to Drexel on Wednesday afternoon at SJU Softball Field.
How It Happened
• Drexel got on the board in the top of the first on a solo home run by Jackie Masone.
• A two-out single by Grace Abbonizio scored Mia Garza to extend Drexel's lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth.
• Following a single that loaded the bases, Masone connected on a two-run single that pushed the Dragons ahead 4-0.
• Saint Joseph's got on the board in the bottom of the fifth as a RBI single up the middle by
Erica Lawrence scored
Hailey Malito to make it 4-1.
• Drexel answered back in the top of the sixth with a sacrifice fly by Sarah Clinton that scored Abbonizio to make it 5-1.

Karlee Smith scored on a RBI groundout by
Alyssa Notarianni in the bottom of the sixth to bring the Hawks to within 5-2.
• Drexel scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh to make it 6-2.

• Lawrence went 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI.
• Malito was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
• Starting in the circle for the Hawks,
Saige Stutz moved to 1-4 on the year as she allowed four earned runs on five hits over 3.2 innings, while striking out two.
