OLEAN, N.Y. – Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse took down St. Bonaventure Sunday afternoon, 16-7, to claim its third-straight win. The Hawks move to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in league play with the Bonnies dropping to 1-7, 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hawks jumped out to a commanding 5-1 lead after one period of play.
- St. Joe's took the first two of the second stanza before the home team found the board. The final four scores were split at two apiece with the Hawks up 9-4.
- It was a quiet offensive period in the third as each team only tallied one goal.
- SJU took a 3-1 scoring advantage through the opening three minutes of the final stanza to push the lead to 13-6. The Hawks would finish the game with the same scoring advantage for a 16-7 final.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
- Bonnie Yu led all scorers with four points on a career-high four goals.
- Riley Evans tallied three points on two goals and an assist, while corralling a career-best nine draw controls.
- Lauren Figura and Emma O'Neill each notched two goals.
- Sophia Kolkka and Taylor Newman-Farr both scoop up a game-high four ground balls and caused a game best two turnovers.
- Jorden Concordia (6-4) posted another solid outing in cage. She made 16 saves for a .696 save percentage.
