TOWSON, Md. – Saint Joseph's fell behind early and couldn't overcome the deficit as it fell at Towson, 20-8, on Saturday evening. The Hawks drop to 3-3 on the year, while the Tigers improve to 1-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- St. Joe's took the lead with the first score of the day, before Towson tallied two-straight to go ahead 2-1. SJU knotted it at two apiece and then the Tigers tallied three unanswered to end the first on top, 5-2.
- The Hawks scored the first goal of the second ahead of a 5-0 run by Towson to widen the margin to 10-3. SJU registered back-to-back scores the head into the break down 10-5.
- St. Joe's cut the deficit with the first score in the third, but Towson quickly responded with a pair. Lauren Figura tallied her fifth of the game to put the score at 12-7, followed by four-straight from Towson to close the third.
- The Hawks tallied their final goal to begin the fourth frame, before Towson ran away with another four.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
- Figura was tied with a game-high five points on five goals. She scooped up two ground balls and tallied one draw control.
- Rilea Fusco scored one and handed out a pair of assists.
- Lisa Ross posted a score and a helper.
- Sophia Kolkka (1G) and Sydney Foster (1A) finished with one point each.
- Jorden Concordia (3-3) recorded the loss with seven saves.
