Men’s Lacrosse Drops Midweek Game on a Drexel Comeback

PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's fell Tuesday afternoon after a comeback bid by Drexel was successful. The Dragons tallied the game winner with1:07 left to play for an 18-17 victory. SJU drops to 4-2 on the season, while Drexel moves to 3-2.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The teams traded the first four scores of the game for two apiece, before the Hawks would take a 5-0 run into the break up 7-2.
  • A 5-2 advantage by the Dragons in the second stanza made it a 9-7 game at the half.
  • Drexel scored two-straight to start the third to tie the game at nine apiece. SJU took three of the next four to push ahead, before the final four scores were swamped with the Hawks up, 14-12.
  • The home team went on a 5-1 spurt to begin the final period, including four-straight to go ahead 17-15 before the Hawks ripped off two in a row to tie the game. The Dragons scored the game winner with1:07 on the clock and held the Hawks off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
