Fusco Leads 10 Different Hawks to Score in Women’s Lacrosse 18-8 Win Over GW

PHILADELPHIA – Rilea Fusco led a cohort of 10 different Saint Joseph's Hawks to score in Thursday night's 18-8 stomping of George Washington. The win moves St. Joe's to 10-5 overall and 6-1 in league play, while GW drops to 4-11, 2-5 A-10.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Hawks tallied two-straight to start the game before the visitors jumped on the board with 7:04 left. GW scored a second in a row and then SJU recorded a pair of goals before the buzzer to end the first period. St. Joe's led, 4-2.
  • The Colonials took the first goal of the second stanza before a 7-0 run over the final 10:09 of the period put the home team up, 11-3.
  • GW rallied to start the third quarter with four-straight goals up to the nine-minute mark to cut the deficit to 11-7. The Hawks answered with three consecutive over a 1:51 span to close the period up 14-7.
  • St. Joe's notched four goals to begin the final stanza and initiate the running clock before GW scored with 1:37 left to bring the game to a close.
