The Saint Joseph's baseball team will embark on the first of two consecutive Atlantic 10 road trips this weekend as the Hawks take on VCU at The Diamond in Richmond, Virginia, for a three-game set beginning on Friday night.

LAST TIME OUT: The Hawks saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 7-4 loss at Penn…Tim Cavanaugh and Travis Rinker hit home runs in the game…Last weekend, SJU secured a key three-game sweep of then-first place George Washington at Smithson Field…In the series opener, the Hawks routed the Colonials, 11-1, before staging a comeback and scoring eight unanswered runs to win the second game by a 9-5 score…On Sunday, the Hawks came from behind once again, scoring two runs on two GW errors on the same play in the eighth inning to take a 4-3 win and a series sweep.
 
The Rams took two out of three at rival Richmond over the weekend before knocking off eighth-ranked Virginia, 9-7, in 10 innings on Tuesday…The Cavaliers scored five times in the top of the seventh to tie the game, but in the bottom of the 10^th, a two-run home run by Jacob Selden carried VCU to the walk-off win.
