Figura Sets Single-Season Goals Record in Win Over La Salle; Women’s Lacrosse Seeded Third in A-10 Championship

PHILADELPHIA – With three goals in Saturday's 22-10 stomping of La Salle, Lauren Figura set the single-season record for goals with 57. The victory clinched the third-overall seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship next week and will match the Hawks up with sixth-seeded George Washington on Thursday at 2 p.m. from Amherst, Mass.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • La Salle scored the initial goal of the game and held a 4-2 lead at the end of the first.
  • The Hawks responded in the second stanza with a 3-0 spurt over a 1:36 span to go ahead 5-4. St. Joe's would hold a 6-5 advantage into the half time buzzer for an 11-9 lead.
  • St. Joe's ripped away in the third frame with a 7-1 scoring margin to push the lead to 18-9.
  • With four unanswered in the final quarter, the Hawks started the running clock and solidified the victory.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Figura finished with a game-high six points on the three scores and three assists.
  • Lisa Ross notched five points on a career-best four goals and one helper. She added a trio of ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
  • Rilea Fusco enjoyed some Senior Day success with five points on two scores and three assists.
  • Riley Evans tied her career mark with four goals, while she also corralled six draw controls.
  • Sophia Kolkka filled the stat sheet in multiple categories. The Blue Bell, Pa. native notched a career-best 12 draw controls, four ground balls, four caused turnovers, two goals, and one assist.
  • Emma O'Neill and Maddie Yoder each found the back of the net twice, with O'Neill scooping up three draw controls.
  • Kaela Smith (1G), Riley Delaney (1G), Lizzie McBride (1G), and Bonnie Yu (1A) rounded out the point scoring effort.
  • Jorden Concordia (11-6) picked up the win with five saves.

The Hawks head to UMass for the Atlantic 10 Championship where they will face #6 George Washington in the opening round on Thursday and 2 p.m.
