AMHERST, Mass. – Riley Evans and Lauren Figura tallied five points apiece to lead third-seeded Saint Joseph's past sixth-seeded George Washington Thursday afternoon, 15-9. The Hawks advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship Semifinal game against second-seeded Richmond on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Hawks jumped ahead early with a pair of unassisted goals before GW found the scoreboard with 3:19 left in the first frame. The Hawks scored two more before the horn for a 4-1 lead.
• St. Joe's added a pair in the second with a 2-1 advantage to go into the half up 6-2.
• After the teams traded the first two scores of the third, SJU ripped off two-straight to pull ahead 9-3 before the Colonials scored again with 2:02 left. GW scored another before the Hawks put up a pair in an 18 span to close the third ahead, 11-5.
• Each team scored four in the final quarter.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

• Evans scored four times and assisted on another. She added six draw controls and two ground balls to her line.
• Figura recorded the hat trick with a pair of assists.
• Lisa Ross (1G, 1A) and Julia Strobel (2G) each tallied a pair of points.
• Sophia Kolkka scored once, won five draw controls, forced two turnovers, and scooped up a pair of ground balls.
• Emma O'Neill, Maddie Yoder, Kaela Smith, and Bonnie Yu all found the back of the net once.
• Taylor Newman-Farr caused a career-best six turnovers and snagged five ground balls.
• Jorden Concordia (12-6) picked up the win with 10 saves and .526 save percentage.
