PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – Saint Joseph's 2nd Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 each earned bronze medals as the Hawks capped their 2021-22 season at the Atlantic 10 Women's Rowing Championship on Saturday at the Cooper River.

As a team, Saint Joseph's finished with 33 points to place fifth in the nine team championship, while Molly Duncan was named to the A-10 All-Conference First Team, and Allison Ruck earned A-10 All-Conference Second Team honors.

"We had a really solid day - medaling in two boats was awesome - especially for our seniors," said head coach Gerry Quinlan. "The Varsity 8 had a good row, and we raced our speed. All in all, a good end to a good season."

How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 4 opened the competition placing first in its heat in a time of 8:27.644 to advance to the Grand Final.
• In the Grand Final, the Hawks' Varsity 4 of c-Victoria Penza, 4-Emily Hruska, 3-Farah Konschak, 2-Kelsey Menshon, 1-Kayla Menshon captured bronze as they crossed the finish line in 8:28.735.
• St. Joe's 2nd Varsity 8 of c-Anna Gambescia, 8-Hannah Ashcraft, 7-Ashley Rodgers, 6-Hannah Howard, 5-Catie Moffett, 4-Aislinn O'Brien, 3-Emma Staples, 2-Anna Martin, 1-Haley Hukari finished third in the morning heat in a time of 7:35.892 to qualify for the Grand Final.
• In the Grand Final, the Hawks' 2nd Varsity 8 earned bronze as they completed the course in 7:19.022, just behind second place Rhode Island.
• The Hawks' Varsity 8 of c-Alexa Romanella, 8-Allison Ruck, 7-Molly Duncan, 6-Riley McDade, 5-Carly Bachinsky, 4-Steph McKenna, 3-Catherine McGonigle, 2-Michaela Mulkerrins, 1-Julia Ianieri qualified for the Grand Final as they completed the course in 7:24.400, finishing third in their heat.
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 8 bested their morning time as the Hawks crossed the finish line in 7:20.361 in the Grand Final, placing sixth overall.
• In the 2nd Varsity 4 Grand Final, the Hawks' boat of c-Susan Mbombab, 4-Rylie Deegan, 3-Kacie Kershaw, 2-Brooke Freund, 1-Jillian O'Connell posted a time of 8:59.507 to place fifth in the field.
• Rhode Island finished with 52 points to win the 2022 A-10 Championship.
