CoSIDA Release

D2 CCA Release

NFCA All-Region Teams

USciences' Gabrielle Simms has repeated as both Academic All-District, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and All-East Region, voted upon by both the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

The 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, with honorees advancing to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot that will be announced in June.

Division II District I considers student-athletes from 34 teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference (ECC) and Northeast 10 (NE10).

Simms was notably one of four the four repeat selections on the 12-person team.

A six-time Dean's List Honoree, she will graduate Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Health Science this Wednesday.

The D2 CCA All-Region Teams are voted upon by the region's 34 sports information directors, while the NFCA All-Region Teams are chosen by NFCA member head coaches from each respective region.

Last season Simms became the program's first NFCA All-Region honoree since USciences made the move to Division II in 2004, before eventually becoming the Devils' first All-American.

This year she was one of six repeat selections after being elected All-Region Second Team, following her  First Team designation by both organizations last season.

Simms ranks top-eight in the region in batting average (.405), on-base percentage (.467) and triples (4), while ending the year top-eight in the CACC in hits (60), doubles (13), triples, total bases (93), walks (17), batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage (.628)

The 60 hits and 13 doubles are both Division II-era single-season program records, and she ends her career as the program's all-time leader with 33 doubles.
