Women's Rowing's Varsity 8 Places 10th At Highly-Competitive Head of the Charles

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team had a strong showing at the Head of the Charles on Saturday as its Varsity 8 placed 10th, while Hawk alumnae competed in Alumni 8 and Championship Lightweight Singles.

How It Happened
• Indicative of the Head of the Charles, St. Joe's had some entanglements and clashes during their event, but the Hawks hammered through in the rain as the Varsity 8 boat of c-Natalie Blouin, 8-Riley McDade, 7-Evie Holder, 6-Kayla Menshon, 5-Hannah Ashcraft, 4-Farah Konschak, 3-Allison Ruck, 2-Emma Staples, 1-Kelsey Menshon posted a time of 17:00.034 to finish 10th in the 40-boat event, three spots ahead of last year's finish.
• In the Alumnae 8 race, Saint Joseph's boat of c-Jessica Crosby, 8-Maria Biancaniello, 7-Teresa Crosby, 6-Shane Devine, 5-Isabella Haleski, 4-Samantha O'Connell, 3-Stephanie McKenna, 2-Sarah Vest, 1-Haley Hukari finished the course in 18:51.500 to place 41st.
• Recent SJU graduate Aislinn O'Brien placed fifth in the Championship Lightweight Single with a time of 20:41.586.
