DAYTON, Ohio – The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team's 2023 campaign came to a close on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship as the sixth seeded Hawks fell at third seed Dayton behind a late goal, 1-0, at Baujan Field.
How It Happened
• In the first half, the Flyers put pressure on the Hawks throughout the 45 minutes, but Saint Joseph's goalkeeper
Katie Cappelletti stood tall, making three saves to keep the match even at 0-0.
• The Hawks had their best scoring chance of the second half early on in the period as a shot by
Nicole Angelini was knocked aside by Dayton's goalkeeper Batoul Reda.
• Dayton broke through for the match's lone goal at 86:58 as a header by Madison Wilson gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead.
• Saint Joseph's pushed to advance the ball over the final minutes, but Dayton didn't yield a scoring opportunity for the Hawks.
