LAST TIME OUT
• The Hawks returned to winning ways against Big 5 rivals Villanova, taking down the Wildcats in the fourth game in eight days for the Crimson and Gray.
• St. Joe's trailed by as many as 10 in the third quarter, but a second half rally sparked by Mackenzie Smith saw the Hawks take a two-point lead headed into the final frame. SJU used a near 50% clip from the field to break a seven-game losing streak to the Wildcats, ensuring at least a share of the Big 5 title with the 73-67 win over Villanova.
• Smith finished with a team-high 21 points in the win. Laura Ziegler pitched her 13th double-double of her career with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Talya Brugler (16) and Chloe Welch (11) also finished in double figures. Villanova's Lucy Olsen tied the record for most points scored in a game at Hagan Arena, matching Chelsea Woods with her game-high 32 points.

SERIES HISTORY
• The Hawks are 2-1 all-time against New Hampshire, 3-0 against Wagner and would take on UAB in the series opener should the two teams meet on day two of the tournament.
• St. Joe's and UNH met previously at the Hawk Classic in 2010, the Hawks getting the best of the Wildcats in a one-point nailbiter.
