TAMPA – Saint Joseph's
Kaelin Cash connected on her first home run of the season, but the Hawks' softball team fell to Boston College, 2-1, on Saturday in the third day of action at the USF-Rawlings Tournament.
Due to rain, St. Joe's second game of the day, versus USF, was postponed until 10 a.m. on Sunday, while the Hawks' original contest on Sunday versus Boston College was canceled.
How It Happened
• Boston College jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on solo home runs by Nicole Giery and Abigail Knight.
• Saint Joseph's answered in the top of the second on Cash connected on a solo home run of her own to make it 2-1.
• The Hawks would threaten in the top of the seventh as they loaded the bases with two out, but the Eagles worked out of the jam as they got a pop out to end the game.

• Cash finished the opener 1-for-2 with her first home run of the season, and added a walk.

Kayla Tauber went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.

Saige Stutz moved to 0-1 on the year as she allowed two earned runs over 0.1 innings.

Taylor Trowbridge tossed 5.2 innings of relief, allowing just three hits, while striking out three.
