HOW IT HAPPENED
  • With the hosts scoring the opening goal, the Hawks would immediately answer through Maggie Davidson on an assist from Bonnie Yu.
  • Two goals in less than two minutes put the Huskies back up, but St. Joe's answered as Sarah Groark found the back of the net to cut the deficit back to one. SJU trailed 3-2 after the opening quarter.
  • A 3-0 UConn advantage in the second quarter extended the advantage for the Huskies headed into the half, taking a 6-2 lead with them. UConn would blank the Hawks in the third as well, scoring eight consecutive goals before Kate Tomick scored her first goal for the Crimson and Gray to cut the run.
  • Kate Fuhrman and Bonnie Yu would strike in 40 seconds apart from each other to start a 3-0 run, but UConn would counter with three-straight goals of its own.
  • Maddie Yoder tallied a strike with under two minutes to play to give the Hawks consolation before Yu found the net for the second time with just 55 seconds remaining for the final score of the contest.
