CONWAY, S.C. – The Saint Joseph's softball team continued play at the Chanticleer Showdown on Saturday as the Hawks fell to Mount St. Mary's, 2-0, in the opener and host Coastal Carolina, 4-3, in game two.
How It Happened - Game One
• Mount St. Mary's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Kaia Bonshock.
• In the top of the sixth, Mount St. Mary's added an insurance run on a RBI single by Vanessa Martin.
• St. Joe's would threaten in the sixth and seventh, but couldn't push a run across in either inning.

Jules Scogna was the hard-luck loser, allowing two earned runs on four hits, while striking out six.
How It Happened - Game Two
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third as
Jessica Gaughan scored on an error on a ball hit by
Kayla Tauber.
• Coastal Carolina tied it at 1-1 in the fourth on a RBI fielder's choice.
• The Chanticleer plated three runs in the fifth to open a 4-1 lead.
• A RBI double by
Payton Baxter scored Tauber to make it 4-2 in the sixth.
• A fielding error on a ball hit by
Sarah Cancila allowed
Karlee Smith to score to make it 4-3 later in the sixth.
Inside The Boxscore - Game One
• Tauber was 1-for-3 with a RBI and run scored.
• Baxter was 1-3 with a RBI.
• Gaughan went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Emily Siler moved to 1-3 on the season as she allowed three earned runs over 5.1 innings, while striking out three.
