TAMPA, Fla. – Saint Joseph's freshman
Meghan Sinkus picked up the first two hits of her collegiate career in Thursday's season opener, but the Hawks' softball team fell to Boston University, 8-0 in six innings, on Thursday in the opening game of the USF-Rawlings Tournament at USF Softball Stadium.
How It Happened
• Boston University took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a two-out RBI single by Emily Gant.
• A two-run single by Nicole Amodio later in the third extended the lead to 3-0.
• The Terriers struck for four runs in the bottom of the fourth to push their lead to 7-0.
• A double by Tyesha Williams in the bottom of the sixth scored the final run for Boston University to make it 8-0.

• Sinkus went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles on the afternoon.

Emily Siler moved to 0-1 on the season as the St. Joe's starter allowed four earned runs on six hits, while striking out one in 3.0 innings of work.
• Coming in for relief, Sage Stutz tossed 2.2 innings and allowed four earned runs on four hits.
