Cash and Fife Power Softball Past Radford, 9-1, In Five Innings

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Saint Joseph's Kaelin Cash and Madison Fife combined to go 6-for-6 with two home runs and seven RBI to lead the Hawks' softball team past Radford, 9-1, in five innings on the second day of the JMU Duke Invitational at Veterans Memorial Park on Friday.

How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
• Cash singled home Sarah Cancila to make it 1-0.
• A pair of errors by Radford allowed the Hawks to plate two more runs in the inning and take a 3-0 edge.
• Cash made it 4-0 in the bottom of the second with a RBI single that scored Cancila.
• Fife delivered a three-run home run later in the second to push the Hawks ahead 7-0.
• Cash picked up her third hit in as many innings in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run to make it 9-0.
• Radford plated an unearned run in the top of the fourth, but St. Joe's starter Taylor Trowbridge and the Hawks' defense wouldn't allow Radford to get any closer as they wrapped up the win in five innings.

• Cash went 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs scored and her fifth home run of the season.
• Fife was 3-for-3 with three RBI, a run scored and her first home run of the year.
• Meghan Sinkus was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
• Cancilla was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
• Trowbridge improved to 3-4 on the season as she tossed 5.0 innings and allowed one unearned run, while striking out three.
