After falling behind early, the Saint Joseph's softball teamed attempted to rally late on Wednesday versus Villanova, only for the Wildcats to hold on for a 3-1 win at SJU Softball Field.
How It Happened
• Villanova's Ryan Henry singled home Ally Jones to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
• Ava Franz followed with a RBI single to push Villanova's lead to 2-0 in the first.
• Saint Joseph's made it 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth as
Kayla Tauber singled home

Meghan Sinkus was thrown out at home trying to tie the game on the play.
• The Wildcats pushed their lead back to two, 3-1, on a RBI single by Chloe Smith in the top of the sixth.
• Saint Joseph's loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but Villanova got a game-ending groundout to secure the win.
