KINGSTON, R.I. – The Saint Joseph's softball team split its doubleheader at Rhode Island on Sunday as the Hawks won the opener, 5-0, but fell to the Rams in game two, 2-0.
How It Happened - Game One
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth as
Meghan Sinkus scored from third on a sacrifice bunt by
Jessica Gaughan.

Kaelin Cash sparked a three-run sixth inning for St. Joe's with a RBII double that scored
Sarah Cancila.
•
Karlee Smith scored on a RBI ground out by Gaughan to push the Hawks' lead to 3-0.
• Cash came around to score to make it 4-0 on a RBI double by
Madison Fife.
• The Hawks added an insurance run in the top of the seventh as
Kayla Tauber scored on a sacrifice fly by Smith to make it 5-0.

Emily Siler was stellar in the circle, allowing just five hits, while striking out five for the complete game shutout.
• Cash was 2-for-4 with a RBI and run scored
• Cancila went 3-for-4 with a run scored.
How It Happened - Game Two
• After five scoreless innings, Rhode Island plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 2-0 lead.
• A RBI single by Skyler Rapuano made it 1-0, while a fielder's choice off the bat of Jess Hennelly pushed the Rams' lead to two.
Inside The Boxscore - Game Two
• Tauber went 1-for-2.
• Cancila, Fifa and Sinkus each went 1-for-3.

Taylor Trowbridge moved to 3-5 on the year as she allowed two unearned runs over 6.0 innings, while striking out four.
