Softball Falls To George Mason In Series Opener, 3-0

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's softball team fell to George Mason, 3-0, in the Hawks' series opener with the Patriots on Saturday at GMU Softball Complex.

How It Happened
• George Mason took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run single by Sydney Bales.
• Haley Taormina added an insurance run for the Patriots in the sixth with a RBI single.

Inside The Boxscore
• St. Joe's starter Emily Siler moved to 8-9 as she allowed three earned runs on six hits over 6.0 innings, while striking out four.
• Kaelin Cash went 2-for-3.
• Jessica Gaughan was 1-for-3.
• Saint Joseph's and George Mason were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, but due to thunderstorms, the schedule was shifted to one game and a doubleheader on Sunday.
• The Hawks and Patriots originally began at 3 p.m., but were delayed for nearly two hours due to unplayable weather.
