MERION STATION, Pa. – A three-run home run by Travis Rinker gave the Saint Joseph's baseball team a one-run lead, but Bucknell would ultimately tie the game before play was halted due to heavy rain with the score at 7-7 in the sixth.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bucknell (18-21-1) took a big early lead, scoring twice in the first and four times in the second.
 
• Saint Joseph's (16-19-1) began to claw back into the game in the bottom of the second.  Max Hitman, Jakob Reed, and Cam Walker led off the inning with three consecutive walks to load the bases.  Brett Callahan then hit into a double play, but Hitman came in to score and get the Hawks on the board.
 
• After a walk to Conlan Wall, Ryan Weingartner doubled home Reed and Wall to cut the deficit to 6-3; Ryan Picollo then followed with a double of his own to plate Weingartner and make it a 6-4 game.
 
• That's where it stayed until the bottom of the fourth.  Wall led off with a single and Picollo hit a one-out single; two batters later, Rinker went deep to left center to give the Hawks a 7-6 lead.
 
• The Bison responded in the top of the fifth, benefiting from a hit batter, a single, and a passed ball to draw level.
 
• The rains came in in the bottom of the fifth, as the Hawks got what might ultimately have proven to be the winning run to third base, but could not bring him home.
 
• In the sixth, Bucknell threatened, getting two aboard with one out, but did not score.  The rains increased in intensity, and the game was called before the Hawks came to the plate.
 
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Picollo led the Hawks with two hits, while Wall scored two runs on the day.  Anthony Sherwin led Bucknell with a pair of hits, while three Bison scored two runs apiece.
