FAIRFAX, Va. – Down to its final strike, George Mason scored a pair of runs to top the Saint Joseph's baseball team, 4-3, at Spuhler Field on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (26-22-1 overall, 16-7 Atlantic 10) took the early lead in the top of the first as
Brett Callahan singled, stole second, advanced on an error, and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Ryan Cesarini.
• The Hawks added to the lead in the third on a two-out, two-run single by
Nate Thomas.
• George Mason (29-23 overall, 13-9 Atlantic 10) got on the board in the sixth, scoring a pair of unearned runs.
• The Patriots would load the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth before Derek Wood poked an 0-2 pitch out to center, scoring the tying and winning runs.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Christian Mracna tossed a perfect ninth to earn the win for George Mason, while
Cole Stetzar took the loss for SJU.

Ryan DeSanto started for SJU, allowing one hit and striking out four across five shutout innings. Logan Rumberg started for GMU, allowing three runs on three hits in four innings.
• Callahan scored two runs in the game, while Thomas' two RBI were a game-high.
