RICHMOND, Va. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team saw its run in the Atlantic 10 Championship come to an end on Thursday night as the Hawks fell to Dayton after a valiant comeback effort, 15-10, at The Diamond.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (28-24-1) opened the scoring in the bottom of the second as
Ryan Weingartner led off with a walk and
Luke Zimmerman followed with a single.Â
Ryan Picollo then hit a 3-2 pitch deep out of the ballpark to left for a 3-0 lead.

• Dayton (26-33) got on the board in the top of the third via three unearned runs before scoring the next 10 runs of the game across three innings to take a 13-3 lead.

• The Hawks got a pair back in the sixth as
Max Hitman led off with a single, advanced on a wild pitch, and came in to score on a single by
Ryan Cesarini, who then scored on a double by
Nate Thomas.

• The Flyers added one in the eighth, but the Hawks struck for four in the bottom of the frame. Hitman and
Brett Callahan started off the frame with consecutive singles before
Brandon Drapeau ripped a three-run home run on the first pitch he saw to cut it to 14-8. Cesarini and Thomas would then add singles before a third in a row by Weingartner plated another run to cut the deficit to five.

• Dayton tacked on a run in the ninth before an RBI groundout by Cesarini plated Hitman, but that would be it for the Hawks.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Parker Bard was the winning pitcher for the Flyers, while
Domenic Picone took the loss for the Hawks.

• Hitman led all batters with four hits on the night; he also scored three times. Cesarini and Thomas added three hits apiece, while Drapeau and Picollo each drove in three runs.

• The Hawks end the campaign with 28 victories, the fourth-most in a season in program history.
