OLEAN, N.Y. – The Saint Joseph's softball team split its doubleheader at St. Bonaventure on Saturday as the Hawks opened with a 4-2 victory, while the Bonnies took the nightcap, 8-4.
How It Happened - Game One
• St. Bonaventure took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a bases-loaded walk by Elyse Graham.

Jessica Gaughan singled home
Sarah Cancila to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the third.
• Cancila put the Hawks ahead 2-1 in the fifth with a RBI triple that scored
Meghan Sinkus.
• Cancila came in to score later in the fifth on a RBI single by Gaughan to make it 3-1.
• St. Bonaventure cut the Hawks' lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth on a RBI single by Emily Piergustavo.

Nicole Bondoc added an insurance run for St. Joe's in the seventh as she scored on a fielding error by the Bonnies to make it 4-2.

Emily Siler retired St. Bonaventure in order in bottom of the seventh to seal the victory.
Inside The Boxscore - Game One
• Siler improved to 10-12 on the season with the complete-game win as she allowed one earned run on five hits, while striking out four.
• Gaughan went 4-for-4 with two RBI.
• Cancila was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI.
How It Happened - Game Two
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Sinkus scored on a RBI single by Gaughan.
• Two batters later,
Erica Lawrence singled home Gaughan and
Karlee Smith to make it 3-0.
• St. Bonaventure answered back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first to make it 3-2.
• Olivia Moon tied the game at 3-3 for the Bonnies with a RBI single in the bottom of the third.
• Olivia Whitecar and Kennedy Haberl each picked up a RBI in the bottom of the fourth inning as St. Bonaventure pushed ahead 5-3.

Jenna Currie scored on a RBI ground out by Cancila in the fifth to bring the Hawks to within 5-4.
• The Bonnies added three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, then set St. Joe's down in order in seventh to end the contest.

• Lawrence went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
• Smith was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
• Gaughan went 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.

Taylor Trowbridge moved to 6-9 on the year as she allowed two earned runs on eight hits, while striking out three in three innings of relief.

Saige Stutz tossed three innings in a starting role, allowing three earned runs on six hits, while striking out one.
