Women’s Cross Country Finishes in Top 10 at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's cross country team competed at the Paul Short Run on Saturday afternoon, racing on a 6k course hosted on Goodman Campus at Lehigh University.
 
About the Event
  • The women ran on a 6k course in the Brown division, the third-highest field.
  • St. Joe's finished 8th out of 35 teams.
  • 285 runners spanned across the brown race, 331 runners competing in the open race. Six Hawks competed in the open event.
 
HOW THE HAWKS FINISHED (WOMEN'S COLLEGE BROWN 6K)
  • Ava Curry continued her strong start to the season, pacing the Hawks after crossing the finish line in 21:58.6 for 14th place.
  • Danika Slits was next to finish for the Hawks, finishing 52nd with a time of 22:44.3.
  • Crossing right after her teammate, Maura Keane finished with a personal best 22:44.7 to place 53rd.
  • Madison Buddenbohn's time of 22:54.0 was a new PR, landing her in the top 70 in the field.
  • Lexi Boyd finished the scoring off for the team, beating her personal best by almost two minutes after coming in at 23:06.9.
  • Katie Sparks also set a PR with a time of 23:08.0, slotting inside the top 100.
  • Freshmen Emily Peifer had a career-best time, finishing her day running a 23:24.0.
  • Sabrina Paz also beat her previous best mark by 11 seconds, racing to a time of 23:40.0.
 
HOW THE HAWKS FINISHED (OPEN WOMEN'S 6K)
  • Danielle Juliano paced the Hawks in the open event with a time of 22:54.9 to finish 63rd
  • Lauren Charboneau followed just behind her teammate with a time of 23:00.6, setting a new PR to finish 71st.
  • Carlyn Segrave-Daly put up a personal best by nine seconds with a time of 23:35.7 on the afternoon.
  • Paula Heide dropped a minute off her time in just her second race of her career, finishing with a time of 23:44.0.
  • Payton Kochanski set a seasonal best of 23:55.9.

The Hawks return to action on Friday, October 18 in the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
